2006 wurde Grey Season<\/strong> von einigen Schulfreunden gegr\u00fcndet. Damals noch unter anderem Namen wurden verschiedenste Musikstile und Besetzungen erprobt, um schlie\u00dflich unter dem Banner Grey Season modernen progressiven Metal zu spielen.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201eProgressive\u201c bezeichnet hier experimentelle Rhythmen und die Kombination mit Elementen aus verschiedensten Genres. Gepr\u00e4gt von dem Sound tief gestimmter Siebensaitigen Gitarren. Im Fokus stehen meistens industrielle Kl\u00e4nge, der fr\u00fche Rock der 70er, Blues und alles was auf den ersten Blick befremdlich wirken mag. F\u00fcr die Band steht Atmosph\u00e4re und experimentelles Songwriting an erster Stelle, man versucht sich nicht auf ein spezifisches Genre fest zu fahren. Metal bildet allerdings stets den Ausgangspunkt. Themen die von der Band in Songs diskutiert werden handeln gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils \u00fcber den Menschen selbst, dessen Lebensstil und die Auswirkungen davon auf die Umwelt und\u00a0die Gesellschaft. Es wird meist ein kritischer Blick auf die Welt gerichtet.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Das Besetzungskarussell drehte in den letzten Jahren auf Hochtouren und bescherte so manchem Fahrgast leider auch mal einen etwas holprigen Ausstieg. Aber alle R\u00fcckschl\u00e4ge f\u00fchrten letztendlich zu einem sehr starken Kern von musikalisch und pers\u00f6nlich aufeinander eingespielten Freunden, f\u00fcr die immer noch die Musik im Vordergrund steht.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Von November 2012 bis Mai 2013 hat Grey Season professionell zusammen mit Thomas Sladek im Tonstudio der FH D\u00fcsseldorf das erste vollst\u00e4ndige Album der Band aufgenommen. Gemastert wurde es in der Skyline Tonfabrik in D\u00fcsseldorf von Jens Dreesen. Das Album ist ein Konzeptalbum und beinhaltet insgesamt acht Lieder (ein Song als Bonustrack) mit einer Gesamtspielzeit von etwa 51 Minuten.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Das Artwork stammt von Max G\u00f6rlitz, einem Freund der Band, der auch f\u00fcr die Bandfotos verantwortlich ist. Ebenfalls ist Erik Kr\u00fcger ab Ende 2013 als Tourmanager\/ Supporter in der Band aktiv.
\n2016 hat sich die Band von Bodo Strau\u00df und Pascal Horn getrennt und Laura Einhorn ist seit 2017 als neue Bassistin in die Band gekommen! Momentan arbeitet die Band an ihrem dritten Album.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Grey Season is a progressive metal band from Cologne, Germany which current line-up formed in the fall of 2008.
\nThe term \u201aprogressive\u2018 in this case is not bound to virtuosity or complexity of riffs and solos, but rather to experimental rhythms, deep tuned guitars and a melting pot of many diverse musical genres, including the early rock of the seventies, industrial sounds, blues and everything that may seem outlandish at the first glance. With metal always being the starting point, these different influences are combined to something new, maybe something unusual, but without a doubt something very special.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nThe lyrical concept behind the music of Grey Season is about the decay of mankind due to hedonism, religion, media, greed and whatever controls and exploits us. There is no preaching, no telling you what is right or wrong, but instead, society and the individual is reflected as it is. And that is a pretty ugly reflection. In the early years of the band existing, the group had to struggle with several line-up changes. It took years to form a strong inner core of individuals that work perfectly together as a group of both, friends and musicians.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The album was recorded in Duesseldorf at the university for applied science, by a friend of the band. It took about 5 months to record and mix it, plus another more three months of final production, being mastering and pressing. The result is a debut that is unusual and different from regular metal releases, mostly by virtue to the fact that the songs were written over a period of time of three to four years. With no pressure at all, young people tend to experiment, push limits and go further than others and this is exactly what the band did musically on their debut, but without ever losing track. The essence of what the band is about can be experienced best at a live show. It does not matter if it is a festival, an opening or headliner show, it is always a fest of joy and musical ecstasy.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In 2015 the band released their second album “Invida” under Noizgate Records. The band recorded and produced the album on their own. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In 2016 the band split up with Bodo Strau\u00df and Pascal Horn and Laura Einhorn joined the band in 2017 as new bassist!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Currently the band is working on their third longplayer with high pressure.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
